FAQ/Policies

What should I NOT bring to the conference?

  • Alcohol, illegal drugs, & weapons such as firearms and knives are prohibited. Anyone who is seen with these items will be asked to leave the conference and will not receive a refund. Please do not bring alcohol, illegal drugs, or weapons to camp!

  • Pets are not permitted on property, please make arrangements for pet care while you are away.

  • Skateboards, in-line skates, roller skates, bicycles & scooters are not permitted at camp.

What should I bring with me?  (Here are some suggestions.)

  • Please bring a reusable water bottle. The drinking water at Innabah is fresh, clean, & beautiful! Refillable water bottles may be filled at water stations & water fountains.

  • Bedding is not provided. Please bring your own bedding such as sheets, sleeping bags, blankets, & pillows. Whatever you need to be cozy and comfortable!

  • Towels, toiletries, shower shoes/flip flops

  • Mat or blanket for evening Circles.

  • A pen & a notebook to take notes during all of the amazing classes you’ll be attending!

  • A small flashlight or phone with flashlight

  • Cash for shopping & purchasing raffle tickets.

  • Light clothing, earth friendly insect repellent

  • A sun hat or cap

  • Waterproof boots or shoes for plant walks & a raincoat or umbrella in the event Mother Nature decides to bring us summer showers.

  • If you choose to participate in the fire & drum circles, please bring your drum.

  • First aid kit/Herbal first aid kit

  • If you are a light sleeper, you may wish to bring earplugs and an eye mask.

  • A camp chair, for sitting around the fire circles and on cabin porches.

  • If you are tenting: waterproof tent, ground cover for under the tent, waterproof tarp for over your tent, perhaps an extra sleeping bag - we want you to be warm & dry!

  • Patience, love, kindness

Smoking

Smoking including e-cigarettes is permitted in the designated outdoor smoking areas only. Smoking indoors is not permitted. Please use the proper receptacles, thank you!

Where can i find the weekend meal plan?

The weekend meal plan is listed at the bottom of our Registration page. Please visit the Registration page & scroll down to find the meal plan.

Are private rooms available?

Please note that the spacious cabins & dorm style lodge rooms are shared. The only option for private lodging is tent camping.

Lost & Found

The lost & found area will be in the tea room.

Valuables

Although we believe that people are generally honest, we encourage you to keep your valuables with you or if you drove, locked in your car. We are not responsible for lost valuables.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Friday check-in registration hours: 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Saturday check-in registration hours: 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM.

Sunday check-out by 4:00 PM.

We don’t want you to feel rushed if you want to take that extra nature walk or sit & listen to the creek a bit longer! We kindly ask that everyone be packed & off property by 4:00 PM.

What if it rains?

The Black Walnut Botanical Conference will be held rain or shine. In the event of showers, we’ll put on our boots & raincoats and dance in the puddles!

Does public transportation go to Innabah?

Unfortunately, no public transportation goes directly to Innabah, but it will get you close & you can take a rideshare or taxi from there.

  • Closest train stations: Whitford, Exton, Paoli

  • Closest SEPTA bus stops: Eagleview, Pottstown, Philadelphia Premium Outlets, Exton, Phoenixville

Where do I park once at camp?

Vehicles may be driven to buildings, cabins, and tent areas to unload personal belongings. After unloading, vehicles must be moved to the stone parking lot located at the main site. Parking is not permitted in the circle or in front of the dumpsters. For the safety of all, please respect the 10 MPH speed limit. We encourage you to carpool if possible for the benefit of the environment, and to ensure a smooth parking situation at the conference.

Do I need to sign up for classes, workshops, & plant walks in advance?

No, just check out your schedule & attend whichever classes speak to you. The only class that requires pre-registration is the Friday Intensive. See information regarding the Friday Intensive on the Registration page.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Please view the Registration page for detailed information regarding our cancellation & refund policies. All cancellation/refund requests must be received in writing via email up to & including June 1, 2023 and are subjected to an $80 fee. Our email address is: grow@blackwalnutbotanical.com. After June 1, 2023 NO REFUNDS will be given.

Please note - the $100 “Save Your Seat” deposit registration option is non refundable.

*In the event of illness or injury, each participant is responsible for their own medical expenses. The Black Walnut Botanical Conference and Innabah are not responsible for illness, injury, or the medical expenses of participants.
