Conference apprentice

Conference Apprentice participants will be integral to the smooth running of our gathering. They are the web weavers, the dear ones who sow together varying aspects throughout the weekend.

If you are the type of person who enjoys working behind the scenes and being part of a team, please consider applying for a Conference Apprentice position!

To apply for a Conference Apprentice position, please fill out the form on the “Connect” page of the website.

Participants will receive the partial scholarship price of $125! This price includes 2 nights onsite tent camping registration or commuter registration, but does not include the Friday intensive. Conference Apprentice participants are welcome to register for the Friday intensive. Apprentices will have plenty of time to attend classes!

All Conference Apprentice participants must be able to stay for the entire conference, and must be able to arrive on Friday by 10:00 AM for a meeting.

Some of the tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Registration/Info table

  • Monitoring classes

  • Attending Plant Paddles

  • Tending the Herbal tea station

  • Decorating, set up and clean up at the beginning and at the end of the conference.

  • Tending campfires

We ask that all who apply for a position be flexible as there will be tasks which come up that are not on this list.

Participants must be at least 18 years old & are subject to the same cancellation/refund policies as regular registration. Please contact us to apply for a position and tell us a little about yourself! Once an application is accepted, potential participants will have 48 hours to pay their registration fee of $125. If we do not receive your payment within this timeframe, the spot may be given to another person.

Please let us know if you are a certified lifeguard or if you have experience building and tending campfires.

Vendors

VENDING & SERVICE OFFERINGS ARE BY PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM AMY ONLY! THIS IS A FIRM BOUNDARY. If someone is vending or offering services without prior written permission, they will be asked to leave the conference & will not receive a refund.

We allow a very limited number of vendors at the Black Walnut as this is an intimate conference experience. Our circle of focus for this conference is the plants. The types of items we would love to see from vendors are handcrafted botanicals such as - salve, tea blends, skin care, hydrosols, elixirs, balms, honey, electuaries, botanical prints, etc.

The Botanical Market will be held indoors and vendors will be supplied with a table and one chair, WiFi is available.

Vendors must be registered to attend! Any vendor donation fees will go directly towards our scholarship fund to assist those who wish to attend, but may otherwise be unable to do so.
